    2 Person, Expedition, 4 Season

The Epoch Tent is a dedicated expedition, 4 season tent ideally suited for use above the snow line and at high altitude. The Epoch is incredibly stable in high wind thanks to an exceptionally strong pole structure and seven guy cords including four 3-point attachment guy cords. Ventilation is controlled with 3 internally accessed roof vents, and valances on both the large and small vestibule minimise windblown snow.

    10,000mm+ waterhead Nylon floor

With a waterhead of over 10,000mm the Nylon tub floor has more than 3 times the waterproof rating of many competitor’s tents. Tents with a floor waterhead of 3000mm or less may leak from kneeling pressure! This market-leading 10,000mm+ waterhead is achieved with a tightly woven 70 denier Nylon fabric with a durable waterproof PU laminate applied.

    DAC Featherlite NSL Poles

All Mont tents use the highest quality poles made by DAC in South Korea. These poles are selected for their high strength, exceptionally low weight, precision engineering and for DAC’s market-leading environmental standards.

    Double poles for maximum stability

The Epoch has the capacity to be double poled to give unparalleled stability in high winds. All pole sleeves, clips and eyelets are designed to easily take a second set of poles, which are an additional purchase.

    Multiple eyelets

Multiple eyelets on all tabs allows the Epoch to be set up with dual poles for maximum stability in high winds & heavy snow loading. Multiple eyelets also allow you to adjust pole tension as conditions change by moving the pole ends between eyelets. In the rare case of an eyelet failure, there is at least one other eyelet at every point as a back up.

    Factory tape sealed seams

The Epoch tent comes with all main seams factory seam sealed, so there is no need to waterproof any of the main seams.

A great expedition tent!

Review for previous model Epoch.

I took this tent with me on my solo sea kayak expedition in East Greenland last year. Greenland has the potential for ferocious weather with both Piteraq and Neqajak storms and having a strong expedition tent is vital. This tent is superbly designed, with every effort made to make it a comfortable refuge in stormy weather but at the same time it has the best ventilation of any tent I have seen, making it just as usable in hot climates as cold. Brilliant!

Epoch Tent

Review for previous model Epoch.

We've used the Epoch for a couple of seasons now including several Main Range and Vic Alps trips. It has proven to be the most bombproof 4 season tent we've ever used. Our most recent trip with it saw us in the Wilkinson Valley, NSW, where we experienced pouring rain, that deafening rain where you think someone is standing outside the tent blasting you with a fire hose, which then turned to snow. Even in the strong winds we experienced on this trip, the Epoch felt solid as a rock. The ventilation is the best of any 4 season tent we've owned and even with all the rain, we had no problems with water/moisture inside the tent. The Epoch is an awesome tent!

Easy set-up & Solid well-thought out design!

Review for previous model Epoch.

Unfortunately I was put in the position of setting up the the Epoch tent for the first time in the dead of night. BUT armed with only a head torch I was able to erect and admire it's design within 15 mins or so. I was practically blindfolded - so simple.
Every feature of this tent seems well thought out, relatively lightweight and super-functional.
Whilst I haven't tried and tested this tent in snow (yet), I have full confidence it will be my tent of choice in the Main Range this winter - bear in mind you will need winter tent pegs (or innovative snow gum stick pegs) if you are heading into the alpine regions!
I am 2 metres tall and this tent JUST squeezes me in there, if anything I have to sleep on a slight angle so my feet or head aren't up against the dewy/cold sloped walls but that's nothing new to me (sleeping diagonally).

Epoch, as good as they come.

30 April 2017

I recently used the new version of the Epoch on a sea kayak expedition on the Antarctic Peninsula. Our group paddled over 300kms from Enterprise Island to Argentine Island and we spent several nights camped on snow in Antarctica. Just like my own first model Epoch, this tent gives you the confidence that lets you sleep regardless of what is happening outside. It feels bombproof and IS bombproof. Snow, no problem, rain, no problem, wind, irrelevant. It's quiet, spacious and breathes better than any other tent I have used. Love it!
