Description

The ART SnakeTail can be used in a variety of ways when climbing and working on ropes. Similarities to the SnakeAnchor exist, but the SnakeTail offers its own distinctive features and focal points.

ecause of its short length of about 115cm, the SnakeTail is particularly suitable as a means of connection between a climbing harness and ascender or other rope safety devices, as a deflection anchor, as a short safety device or as... In fact, the variety of SnakeTail applications seems almost inexhaustible.

The SnakeTail's grooved ring is removable. All you have to do is unscrew the collar locking screw and slide it back or remove it. Now the U-ring can be pressed out of the cable eye. The free rope sling can then be used as a lanyard.

With the ring removed, the SnakeTail can soon be connected to the RopeZipper, a newly developed energy absorber that can also be used individually. With the help of a simple anchor stitch, you then get another, compact, PSA-certified aid that offers a lean and versatile solution with high safety reserves for a variety of requirements. This shows once again the strength of the modular design of many ART products.

The SnakeTail (MegaTwin 8mm) rope is the result of a collaboration between Hubert Kowalewski and specialists from the renowned rope manufacturer Gleistein in Bremen. The core of the kernmantle rope consists of 50% Dyneema and 50% polyester. The coat is made of polyester and is therefore abrasion-resistant and UV-resistant. The Dyneema portion ensures enormous tear resistance with very little stretch. At the same time, the rope is pleasantly soft to handle thanks to its special braiding in both the core and the sheath, despite the many segment seams.
