The New Year’s Resolution Run marks the first major event of the year for Kowen Trail Run! Taking place on Sunday, 19th January, participants can choose between two challenging distances: a 12km run or a half marathon.
Mont has proudly been the sole sponsor of the Kowen Races since their inception five years ago, supporting this outstanding Canberra initiative that fosters a supportive trail running community. Founded by Pam Muston with support from her daughter Clare and backed by the Wamboin Fire Brigade, the event continues to grow in size and spirit.
This January, an estimated 600 eager competitors will navigate through the breathtaking Kowen Forest, along scenic dirt tracks and fire trails. The half-marathon participants will face an impressive 680 metres of elevation gain, while the 12km runners will take on 360 metres.
All runners will be rewarded with stunning views, an inspiring sense of community, and, for the swiftest among them, podium placements!

This trip into the Budawang National Park began as a mission to photograph new product releases, but beneath the brief sat a much more personal objective.

Probably the most important thing to pack though is a good amount of respect for the environment, commonsense and experience
