The Moondance EX is the largest tent in the Mont lightweight range. At just 2420g it is impressively light for its generous dimensions and is ideal for those looking for a roomy 2 person or comfortable 3 person tent.
With the same weatherproof & weight-saving features that make the Mont Moondance 2 a bestseller, the Moondance EX is perfect for adventures with 2-to-3 people: Lightweight bushwalking, bike packing epics or family camping fun.
The Moondance EX easily fits three standard size sleeping mats and with a high ceiling and steep side walls is very spacious inside. Dual doors allow you to climb in and out without disturbing your camping partners and the dual vestibules provide ample space for backpacks, boots and more.
Mont Tents are sold fully seam sealed, waterproof and ready for rain straight out of the box. There is no need to seam seal your new Mont tent.
Took our new tent out for the first time to cooks beach in the Freycinet Peninsula Tasmania and couldn’t believe how easy it was to set up Compare to some of the other tents we’ve had in the past. Couldn’t believe how much room we had inside for the two of us with all of our gear. My partner loved all the little pockets inside the tent to store all of our stuff. there is even a handy little carabiner to hang a tent light from. It’s a great little tent that’s gonna give us lots of comfort and enjoyment doing what we love. We are heading to the Overland track in a couple of months and the track is notorious for bad weather rain and snow and we feel confident that our new tent will be fantastic
I used a Mont Moondance III, the predecessor to this tent, on my Bass Strait crossing by sea kayak in 2011. The tent is excellent. Roomy, light, fast to *****, stable and very weatherproof, happily shrugging off strong winds and heavy rain. It is so light that it is even suitable for a solo walker that likes to spread out inside. The Moondance III ventilates really well but the new EX has even more vents so better again :-)
taken on our 16 day Larapinta Trail trek. great little tent for 2 people with plenty of room to store packs inside to keep gear safe from the local wildlife. tent, poles and pegs all packed separately made it easy to share the load. quite noticeable how even on cold nights it was signifcantly warmer inside the tent than out. Good ventilation meant early morning pack ups could be done without having to deal with unwanted condensation. also met another group on the track with an older model. Only change would be getting a set of DAC J Stakes to replace the Millenium pegs to give more versatility on the hard rock and sand surfaces.
